All About Me
I’m a kidney warrior, faith-filled survivor, mental health advocate, and a living testimony of resilience.
I believe stories have power—and I’m using mine to break the silence around chronic illness, especially in the Black community. My life hasn’t been easy, but it’s been deeply purposeful. I’ve fought for my health, my peace, and my hope—and I’m still standing.

My Journey
A Testimony of Survival and Strength
🛑 The Diagnosis – 2017
A pneumonia visit led to unexpected bloodwork—and suddenly, I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. My kidneys were at 10–15%. I was terrified and uninformed. I had no idea high blood pressure had been attacking my body in silence.
💉 Dialysis Begins
Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) gave me a false sense of freedom—until the reality hit. Supplies stacked to the ceiling, 9.5-hour nightly sessions, and growing isolation. I fought physical exhaustion and emotional darkness.
🕊️ Loss and Spiritual Awakening
I lost a mentor right before starting treatment. That grief deepened my faith. God became my sustainer, my mind regulator, and my peace. The Word became my anchor.
😔 Mental Health Struggles
Depression crept in. I started skipping dialysis. I felt like I was fading.
Therapy changed everything.
Dr. Natasha helped me unpack years of silent pain. Therapy became sacred ground for healing.
🚑 Medical Crisis
-
Congestive Heart Failure
-
A rare condition called Calciphylaxis
-
Stroke symptoms and physical rehab
-
Cancer scare (benign) after parathyroid surgery
Each crisis was another test—and another reason to keep going.
💪🏾 Hemodialysis: A New Beginning
As much as I resisted it, switching to Hemodialysis gave me back my energy and quality of life. I chose life—and that choice saved me.
